Hannah Ewell is a musician and harpist from Bay Area, San Jose dedicated to broadening the harp’s reach to the general public through early education and further embedding the harp within preexisting traditional groups and more modern musical collectives. She teaches piano, harp and offers harp performance event booking.

Her musical journey began with recitals, church playing, charity events, competitions, and eventually playing with orchestras and then getting involved in different collaborations, all while developing a unique style beyond her formal classical training. Her early performances took her across California and the U.S. where she played in diverse venues and for various communities—experiences that deepened her appreciation for both traditional harp and music collectives.

Despite her formal education in music performance at college, Hannah is also pursuing a bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science and a master's in educational management. She owns a cat named Beaner and is currently learning about sonogenetics to better understand the therapeutic and scientific potential of noninvasive procedures for healthcare through use of wavelengths. She understands that there’s a lot more to music that goes beyond audible enjoyment and would like to see further usage of music in research and healthcare.

Her current favorite chamber work is Jean Cras’s Harp Quintet- a four-movement work for string quartet and harp
